Explore 14 Adaptation & Tradeoffs review games designed by a teacher to engage students and reinforce curriculum. When students are having fun, they forget they are reviewing, making games a great way to practice Science.

• Turn review into a classroom battle with GRUDGEBALL, where correct answers earn attacks and successful baskets give teams extra shots at their opponents.
• Turn review into an unpredictable whole-class competition with The BIG TERRIBLE Game, where every answer can send a team’s score in the right or wrong direction.
• In The TERRIBLE Game, teams answer questions to reveal mystery scores, then decide who gets the points as everyone battles to finish closest to zero.
• In FRAZZLED, teams answer questions to uncover mystery points, but one wrong answer or unlucky bomb can completely change the game.
• With SCOOT, students move around the room answering task cards, turning curriculum review into an active classroom game.
• BUMP gets teams racing to answer correctly, then gives them a chance to score points by knocking other teams off the platform.
• TRASHKETBALL™ gets teams racing to answer correctly, then rewards them with shots at the trash can to score points.

Review doesn’t have to mean another worksheet, especially when a game can get the whole class involved. Students get focused, talk through answers with their teammates, and suddenly everyone wants to be the one who gets the next question right. When games become a regular part of review, students quickly learn that knowing the material gives them an advantage, and they start showing up ready to compete.

Games may feel like fun to students, but research shows they can be serious learning tools, with measurable benefits for achievement, retention, and engagement. See the research.
