Explore 13 Animal Biology review games designed by a teacher to engage students and reinforce curriculum. When students are having fun, they forget they are reviewing, making games a great way to practice Science.

• SCOOT gets students out of their seats and moving around the classroom as they rotate from desk to desk answering task cards.
• TRASHKETBALL™ gets teams racing to answer correctly, then rewards them with shots at the trash can to score points.
• The BIG TERRIBLE Game keeps the whole class involved as up to eight teams answer together and watch their scores swing above and below zero.
• FRAZZLED keeps students guessing as correct answers reveal surprise points, wrong answers can reward the other team, and bombs can wipe out a score.
• In BUMP, correct answers earn students shots at the platform, where they can score even more points by bumping off opposing teams.
• In GRUDGEBALL, teams answer questions to fire on their opponents’ ships, then make baskets to earn even more shots.
• In The TERRIBLE Game, teams answer questions to reveal mystery scores, then decide who gets the points as everyone battles to finish closest to zero.

Review doesn’t have to mean another worksheet, especially when a game can get the whole class involved. The competition gets students paying attention to every question, communicating with their team, and getting genuinely excited when the answer is revealed. The real change happens when students start looking ahead to the next game and realize that the more prepared they are, the better their chances of winning.

The excitement is great, but the research is even better—educational games have been linked to stronger achievement, retention, and motivation. See the research.
