Explore 7 Bill of Rights review games designed by a teacher to engage students and reinforce curriculum. Give students a break from worksheets and bring Social Studies review to life with a classroom game.
- Turn review into a team battle with BUMP, where correct answers earn shots and students can bump their opponents off the platform for extra points.
- GRUDGEBALL turns review into a battle where correct answers earn cannon shots to sink opposing teams before they sink you.
- The TERRIBLE Game makes review wonderfully terrible as teams answer questions, uncover unpredictable scores, and use positive and negative points to get closest to zero.
- SCOOT gets students out of their seats and moving around the classroom as they rotate from desk to desk answering task cards.
- TRASHKETBALL™ mixes fast-paced question review with a classroom shooting competition where correct answers earn shots for points.
- The BIG TERRIBLE Game keeps the whole class involved as up to eight teams answer together and watch their scores swing above and below zero.
- Keep students on their toes with FRAZZLED, where every answer can reveal points, help the opposing team, or uncover a bomb that resets the score to zero.
Turning review into a game is one of my favorite ways to get students participating without making practice feel like more work. Once the game starts, students start talking, thinking, and working together, with hands shooting up and everyone waiting to see what happens next. The real change happens when students start looking ahead to the next game and realize that the more prepared they are, the better their chances of winning.
There’s research behind the fun too, with studies finding better academic performance and greater student engagement when games are brought into learning. See the research.
