Explore 7 Choosing Between Laws review games designed by a teacher to engage students and reinforce curriculum. Give students a break from worksheets and bring Math review to life with a classroom game.
- In FRAZZLED, teams answer questions to uncover mystery points, but one wrong answer or unlucky bomb can completely change the game.
- In BUMP, correct answers earn students shots at the platform, where they can score even more points by bumping off opposing teams.
- Turn review into a classroom battle with GRUDGEBALL, where correct answers earn attacks and successful baskets give teams extra shots at their opponents.
- In The TERRIBLE Game, teams answer questions to reveal mystery scores, then decide who gets the points as everyone battles to finish closest to zero.
- SCOOT combines review with movement as students rotate between desks and work their way through a set of topic-specific task cards.
- TRASHKETBALL™ gets teams racing to answer correctly, then rewards them with shots at the trash can to score points.
- The BIG TERRIBLE Game gets up to eight teams answering every question while unpredictable positive and negative points keep everyone guessing until the end.
Turning review into a game is one of my favorite ways to get students participating without making practice feel like more work. The competition gets students paying attention to every question, communicating with their team, and getting genuinely excited when the answer is revealed. Play review games regularly and students start preparing for them, because just like sports, they know being ready gives them a better chance to win.
Games may feel like fun to students, but research shows they can be serious learning tools, with measurable benefits for achievement, retention, and engagement. See the research.
