Explore 4 Identify Noun Gender - Comparisons review games designed by a teacher to engage students and reinforce curriculum. Give students a break from worksheets and bring Spanish review to life with a classroom game.
- TRASHKETBALL™ gets teams racing to answer correctly, then rewards them with shots at the trash can to score points.
- In The BIG TERRIBLE Game, every team answers every question and earns unpredictable positive or negative points while trying to finish closest to zero.
Turning review into a game is one of my favorite ways to get students participating without making practice feel like more work. Before long, students are cheering, discussing answers, and asking to play again—even when their team didn’t win. Just like a team practices before a big game, students who know another review game is coming have a reason to prepare, because this time they really want to win.
There’s research behind the fun too, with studies finding better academic performance and greater student engagement when games are brought into learning. See the research.
