Explore 14 Keystone Species review games designed by a teacher to engage students and reinforce curriculum. Give students a break from worksheets and bring Science review to life with a classroom game.

• In The TERRIBLE Game, teams answer questions to reveal mystery scores, then decide who gets the points as everyone battles to finish closest to zero.
• FRAZZLED keeps students guessing as correct answers reveal surprise points, wrong answers can reward the other team, and bombs can wipe out a score.
• With SCOOT, students move around the room answering task cards, turning curriculum review into an active classroom game.
• BUMP gets teams racing to answer correctly, then gives them a chance to score points by knocking other teams off the platform.
• TRASHKETBALL™ mixes fast-paced question review with a classroom shooting competition where correct answers earn shots for points.
• In GRUDGEBALL, teams answer questions to fire on their opponents’ ships, then make baskets to earn even more shots.
• In The BIG TERRIBLE Game, every team answers every question and earns unpredictable positive or negative points while trying to finish closest to zero.

Review doesn’t have to mean another worksheet, especially when a game can get the whole class involved. Students who normally sit back during review often jump into the action, working with their teammates and getting caught up in every question and result. Once students know another game is coming, winning becomes a reason to pay attention, practice, and make sure they’re ready for the next one.

The excitement is great, but the research is even better—educational games have been linked to stronger achievement, retention, and motivation. See the research.
