Explore 20 Photosynthesis in Plants review games designed by a teacher to engage students and reinforce curriculum. When students are having fun, they forget they are reviewing, making games a great way to practice Science.

• In GRUDGEBALL, teams answer questions to fire on their opponents’ ships, then make baskets to earn even more shots.
• In BUMP, correct answers earn students shots at the platform, where they can score even more points by bumping off opposing teams.
• In FRAZZLED, teams answer questions to uncover mystery points, but one wrong answer or unlucky bomb can completely change the game.
• Turn review into an unpredictable whole-class competition with The BIG TERRIBLE Game, where every answer can send a team’s score in the right or wrong direction.
• TRASHKETBALL™ gets teams racing to answer correctly, then rewards them with shots at the trash can to score points.
• SCOOT gets students out of their seats and moving around the classroom as they rotate from desk to desk answering task cards.
• The TERRIBLE Game rewards correct answers with positive or negative points that students can strategically assign to their own team or their opponents.

Review doesn’t have to mean another worksheet, especially when a game can get the whole class involved. Before long, students are cheering, discussing answers, and asking to play again—even when their team didn’t win. The real change happens when students start looking ahead to the next game and realize that the more prepared they are, the better their chances of winning.

And it isn’t just something I’ve seen in my own classroom—research has found significant learning benefits from using educational games with students. See the research.
