Explore 14 Prokaryotes & Eukaryotic Microbes review games designed by a teacher to engage students and reinforce curriculum. Turn Science review into a game and give students a reason to get excited about showing what they know.

• Keep students on their toes with FRAZZLED, where every answer can reveal points, help the opposing team, or uncover a bomb that resets the score to zero.
• BUMP combines fast-paced question review with a competitive challenge where students land shots and knock other teams off the platform.
• In GRUDGEBALL, teams answer questions to fire on their opponents’ ships, then make baskets to earn even more shots.
• The TERRIBLE Game adds strategy to review as correct answers uncover positive or negative points that can help your team or hurt your opponents.
• SCOOT gets students out of their seats and moving around the classroom as they rotate from desk to desk answering task cards.
• TRASHKETBALL™ gets teams racing to answer correctly, then rewards them with shots at the trash can to score points.
• Turn review into an unpredictable whole-class competition with The BIG TERRIBLE Game, where every answer can send a team’s score in the right or wrong direction.

Review doesn’t have to mean another worksheet, especially when a game can get the whole class involved. Students who normally sit back during review often jump into the action, working with their teammates and getting caught up in every question and result. Over time, that excitement carries beyond the game itself, as students start preparing because they want their team to have a better chance of winning next time.

There’s research behind the fun too, with studies finding better academic performance and greater student engagement when games are brought into learning. See the research.
