Explore 7 Systems of Inequalities Word Problems review games designed by a teacher to engage students and reinforce curriculum. Give students a break from worksheets and bring Math review to life with a classroom game.
- TRASHKETBALL™ gets teams racing to answer correctly, then rewards them with shots at the trash can to score points.
- BUMP combines fast-paced question review with a competitive challenge where students land shots and knock other teams off the platform.
- With SCOOT, students move around the room answering task cards, turning curriculum review into an active classroom game.
- Keep students on their toes with FRAZZLED, where every answer can reveal points, help the opposing team, or uncover a bomb that resets the score to zero.
- The TERRIBLE Game makes review wonderfully terrible as teams answer questions, uncover unpredictable scores, and use positive and negative points to get closest to zero.
- Turn review into an unpredictable whole-class competition with The BIG TERRIBLE Game, where every answer can send a team’s score in the right or wrong direction.
- GRUDGEBALL turns review into a battle where correct answers earn cannon shots to sink opposing teams before they sink you.
Turning review into a game is one of my favorite ways to get students participating without making practice feel like more work. Students get focused, talk through answers with their teammates, and suddenly everyone wants to be the one who gets the next question right. Just like a team practices before a big game, students who know another review game is coming have a reason to prepare, because this time they really want to win.
Games may feel like fun to students, but research shows they can be serious learning tools, with measurable benefits for achievement, retention, and engagement. See the research.
